Hap is an accomplished accounting professional with nearly 40 years of experience in public accounting, corporate finance, and real estate portfolio management. A graduate of Georgia State University (BBA, Accounting, cum laude, 1985), he earned his CPA license in 1988 and has since combined entrepreneurial leadership with executive-level expertise.

Hap began his career at Jones and Kolb, CPAs, advancing to Equitable Real Estate Investment Management, where he oversaw national commercial real estate portfolios and led systems development initiatives. In 1991, he founded H. A. Petty, P.C., an Atlanta-based firm providing tax preparation, financial management, accounting system design, and consulting services. Alongside managing his firm, he has served in leadership roles with Tarica & Whittemore, Grace Williams and Associates, Pediatric Physician Alliance, and 3D Image Technology, offering broad expertise in healthcare, technology, and real estate industries.

Currently, Hap serves clients through H. A. Petty, P.C. and as Financial Consultant for King Industrial Realty, Inc., advising management on the accounting operations of a leading Atlanta real estate brokerage. He is a member of the Georgia Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. Throughout his career, he has been recognized as a trusted advisor committed to delivering clarity, compliance, and strategic financial solutions to businesses and individuals.

Hap is a lifelong member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church and enjoyed primary hobbies such as playing golf, tennis, scuba diving and flying single engine airplanes before becoming a full-time CPA professional and a father to two children.
